Job Description

We are seeking a Communications and Marketing Manager to lead the development and delivery of our communications strategy. You will ensure YMCA St Helens' mission, impact, and services are effectively promoted across all channels, driving measurable growth in audience engagement, strengthening brand visibility, and supporting fundraising and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement a comprehensive communications and marketing strategy
Manage and grow our digital presence (website, social media, email marketing)
Create engaging content including blogs, newsletters, press releases, and promotional materials
Maintain and develop the YMCA brand locally, ensuring alignment with national guidelines
Build relationships with local media and stakeholders to increase visibility
Support fundraising campaigns and organisational events
Strengthen internal communications processes for staff and volunteers

About You

Essential:
Minimum 5 years' experience in communications and marketing
Experience managing social media platforms and digital marketing tools
Ability to develop and deliver strategic communications plans
Excellent interpersonal and creative skills
Strong organisational and project management abilities
CIM Level 6 qualification or working towards
Commitment to YMCA's mission and values

Desirable:
Experience with graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite)
Familiarity with CMS platforms and email marketing systems
Understanding of GDPR and communications compliance
