Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated and organised Community Centre Coordinator to support the daily operations of Alpha Grove Community Centre. This is an on-site role perfect for someone passionate about community engagement who thrives in a dynamic, people-focused environment. As the first point of contact for community users and stakeholders, you will coordinate activities, support programme delivery, and ensure our facilities provide a welcoming and well-maintained space for all community members.
Key Responsibilities
Programme Support & Coordination
Assist with the coordination and delivery of community programmes and activities
Support facilitators, volunteers, and participants to ensure smooth programme operations
Help promote programmes and activities to the community
Gather feedback from participants to support continuous improvement
Facility Management
Manage daily facility bookings and coordinate room setups
Ensure facilities are clean, safe, and welcoming for all users
Conduct regular facility checks and report maintenance needs
Monitor health and safety compliance throughout the centre
Community Engagement
Serve as the first point of contact for community users, stakeholders, and visitors
Build positive relationships with centre users, community groups, and stakeholders
Assist with events and special community activities
Manage social media platforms to promote activities, share success stories, and increase community awareness.
Collaborate with local authorities, health services, educational institutions, and other partners to facilitate joint initiatives.
Administrative Duties
Maintain accurate records of bookings, attendance, and facility usage
Prepare reports on programme outcomes, community feedback, and engagement metrics for organisational review.
Handle enquiries via phone, email, and in-person
Process bookings and payments efficiently
Support general administrative tasks as required
Support management with funding applications and grant reporting as required
Team Collaboration
Work closely with the Deputy Manager and Centre Manager
Support and coordinate with volunteers and casual staff
Participate in team meetings and contribute to centre development
Essential Requirements
Experience in a coordination, customer service, or community-facing role
Strong organisational and time management skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proficiency with computers and standard office software
Flexible approach to working hours, including occasional evenings and weekends
Commitment to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment
DBS eligibility
Desirable Requirements
Previous experience in a community centre or similar setting
Knowledge of booking systems and facility management
Understanding of health and safety requirements
Experience working with diverse community groups
First Aid certification
