Portchester Community Centre (PCC)

is a self-funded charity and vibrant community hub offering a wide range of activities, classes, events, and group sessions. Led by trustees, we provide a welcoming, well-managed space that supports the diverse needs of residents and plays a key role in community life. We are looking for a highly organised, proactive Manager/Administrator to oversee the day-to-day operations of our busy, fast-paced centre. Reporting to the Chair of Trustees, you will manage multiple priorities, support smooth facility operations, and act as a central point ensuring the centre runs efficiently.

Key Responsibilities



Manage day-to-day finance tasks: invoicing, credit control, payroll data, reconciliations, and financial reporting (Xero/Sage). Lead customer service and administration, including room-hire bookings, reception duties, and general office tasks. Oversee building operations: planned maintenance, repairs, and statutory compliance (H&S, fire safety, food hygiene). Deliver marketing and communications: social media content, website updates, and stakeholder liaison. Coordinate staff and volunteers, including induction, training, rota management, and payroll processing.

Key Experience & Skills



3+ years previous experience in finance/accounts administration. Strong IT skills: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and accounting software. Excellent organisational, multitasking, and communication skills. Proven experience supervising staff. Ability to work independently and proactively in a busy environment Experience managing social media for a business or charity. Customer-facing or community-based work experience. Knowledge of building operations and maintenance.

Job Role Benefits



15.00 per hour, permanent part-time (30 hrs/week; flexible hours).
