The Thomas Theyer Foundation is a registered charity supporting Children and Young People (CYP) with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and those experiencing Difficult Life Circumstances (DLC) as well as their families/carers. The focus of the charity is the physical and mental health of these children.
Purpose of the Role
To plan, promote and deliver community engagement and fundraising events and activities, with the aim of raising awareness of the foundation and generate income for its charitable work. Organise outdoor activities and promote and report on these activities.
Key responsibilities/duties:
1. Fundraising & Events
Plan, coordinate, and deliver a calendar of community fundraising events (e.g. walks, challenges, fairs, and third-party events).
Develop income-generating initiatives/campaigns that align with the Foundation's mission.
Set and meet income targets to ensure the role is self-sustaining. Income generation must exceed the roles salary and associated costs.
Prepare small funding applications/bids.
2. Community Engagement
Identify local charitable organisations, such as WI, and develop relationships and fundraising opportunities.
Build relationships with, schools, businesses, and individuals to grow support.
Represent the charity at community events and networking opportunities.
Recruit and manage volunteers to support events and campaigns.
Ensure regular 'check ins' with all supporters - schools, businesses and individuals to motivate and support in their fundraising activities.
Organise the distribution, collection of donation tubes in local businesses, building relationships with these businesses and where possible further fundraising opportunities.
3. Outdoor Activities
Organise and manage outdoor activities for CYP beneficiaries liaising with outdoor centres, schools.
Ensure budgets for outdoor activities are kept to and reports for funders are completed.
4. Marketing & Promotion
Promote activities and events via social media, website and local press.
Manage website, keeping up to date and promoting charitable work and events.
Create engaging content and materials to support fundraising campaigns.
5. Monitoring & Reporting
Pre budgeting and tracking income and expenditure for each event.
Monthly reporting of activities, income generation, and engagement metrics.
The post holder will be required to:
Attend events and meetings, these may take place in the evening and/or at weekend. Hours of work adjusted to meet.
Open and close the office.
Any other duties as agreed.

Essential

Ability to work independently and manage own workload
Experienced with all Microsoft applications, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Full UK driving licence and access to own transport
Desirable
Experience working in an income generation role i.e. sales role.
Experience working in the charity sector.
Experience setting up, promoting and managing events
Knowledge of local community networks
Experience of using CRM or fundraising platforms
Experience of using online design packages such as Canva
Qualification in Events Management

Number and quality of events delivered.
