Community Events Manager (part Time)

Codicote, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

Purpose of the Role

We are seeking a proactive and well-organised hands-on Events Manager to lead the coordination, development, and delivery of our growing events and training programme for the Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) sector. This is an exciting opportunity to strengthen our support offer to local organisations and engage with key stakeholders while improving the sustainability and profile of both the CVS and the events we produce.

The postholder will take ownership of the full events lifecycle - from concept to delivery - and will be tasked with securing sponsorship and in-kind support to help offset costs.

Key Responsibilities

Event Planning and Delivery

Develop and maintain an annual calendar of events and training in collaboration with colleagues and partners. Plan, coordinate and deliver high-quality events (online, in-person and hybrid) including workshops, conferences, training sessions, and forums. Manage logistics including budgeting, venues, suppliers, technology, accessibility, and materials. Support the development of marketing and communications for each event, including promotion, registration management, and post-event follow-up. Take a practical, on-the-ground approach to event promotion and delivery - including attending site visits, completing risk assessments, supporting venue setup and takedown, and engaging directly with the community (e.g. distributing flyers, meeting local partners, troubleshooting on the day).
Strategic and Collaborative Working

Work closely with programme leads and occasionally, external partners to align events with organisational priorities and local sector needs. Build relationships with trainers, speakers, facilitators, and stakeholders to enhance the quality and reach of events. Ensure all events are inclusive, accessible, and representative of the communities we serve. The ability to work on tight budgets, within a small team, to produce inspiration and innovative events are essential.
Income Generation and Support

Proactively seek and secure in-kind support such as free venues, refreshments, and volunteer contributions. Develop a sponsorship offer for relevant events and secure funding or contributions from partners. Track and report on cost savings and income generated through external support.
Monitoring and Evaluation

Gather and analyse participant and staff feedback and event impact data. Provide reports to senior management and board on event performance, including attendance, reach, satisfaction, and value for money. Contribute to funding reports or evaluation work as required.
