Committed to sustainability, they strive to minimise the amount of waste that ends up in landfill by transforming it into valuable resources wherever possible. The company operates over 200 facilities in England, Scotland and Wales and employs around 4,200 people.A vacancy currently exists for a Compliance Advisor. In this role, you will provide expert advice and guidance to Site Managers, ensuring compliance with environmental permits and regulations. You will be instrumental in building strong relationships with regulators, leading monitoring activities, and delivering environmental improvement plans across a range of landfill sites.Main Duties:

• Advising Site Managers on compliance with environmental permits and relevant legislation
• Managing environmental monitoring schedules and reporting requirements
• Developing and supporting leachate management and environmental improvement plans
• Conducting risk assessments and environmental impact analyses
• Building relationships with regulators, contractors, and other stakeholders
• Producing technical reports and supporting audits
• Leading environmental contractor inductions and procurement processes
• Investigating and responding to environmental non-compliances and public complaints
• Assisting with gas and leachate management strategies and reporting.

• Experience in environmental monitoring or a related field (waste industry experience preferred)
• Proven track record in project delivery and environmental compliance
• Competency in using environmental monitoring equipment and report writing
• Excellent communication skills and ability to influence stakeholders
• Strong organisational skills and resilience in managing third-party contractors
• A degree in an environmental discipline is preferred, though candidates with relevant experience will be considered
• CIWM membership desirable
