The Opportunity





We are excited to announce a new vacancy for a Compliance Advisor to join our expanding, experienced and friendly team at our Stoke?on?Trent office, working under our Land Recovery business.


As part of a dynamic and supportive team, you'll ensure our Integrated Management System remains current, compliant with legislation, and aligned with ISO, RISQS, Network Rail, and client standards. You'll support internal and external audit processes, drive continuous improvement, and provide essential guidance across the business.

Management of Integrated Management System (IMS)



You will maintain and update the IMS manual, policies, procedures, operating instructions, emergency plans, and forms. You will ensure controlled circulation, legal compliance, and alignment with Network Rail standards and client requirements. You will actively promote ongoing improvements in company procedures.

ISO, RISQS & Certification Compliance



You will assist in managing and developing documented management systems to meet ISO certifications, RISQS, and client requirements. You will help develop and execute a risk-based internal audit programme. You will coordinate with certification bodies and clients during audits, addressing non-conformances and reporting to Line Management.

Internal & External Auditing



You will plan, lead, and report on internal and external audits. Drive improvements through audit findings, facilitating corrective actions and tracking progress. Support audit scheduling and documentation management.

Contract & Project Support



You will provide compliance support during contract planning and delivery, including pre-qualification (e.g., vendor questionnaires).

Leadership & Training



You will induct and train direct subordinates and departmental personnel on IMS and compliance. Mentor and develop junior staff, supporting and deputise for the Head of Safety & Compliance when required.

Reporting & Management Review



You will prepare compliance summary reports for the Management Team, Quarterly Business Compliance Reviews, and Management Review Meetings. Collate customer satisfaction surveys and feedback, analyse trends, and present findings.

Client & Supplier Coordination



You will provide information and complete client/supplier approval questionnaires. liaise with internal departments and suppliers to resolve compliance queries.

Who You Are




You are a confident and experienced compliance and systems specialist with a passion for quality and continuous improvement. You thrive in structured environments where precision, organisation, and accuracy are important.

Certified & knowledgeable

, you hold Internal ISO 9001 Auditor accreditation (ideally a Lead ISO 45001 qualification) and you are well-versed in maintaining ISO, RISQS, Network Rail, and client compliance standards.

Audit-driven & detail-oriented

, you've designed, conducted, and managed internal and external audits, translating findings into meaningful corrective actions and keeping meticulous records.

Strong communicator & collaborator

, you can liaise confidently with certification bodies, clients, and internal teams, building trust and guiding others through compliance processes.

Organised & proactive

, you're adept at maintaining management system documentation (manuals, SOPs, procedures) and managing revisions, approvals, and controlled circulation, bringing high organisational standards and excellent process-writing skills.

Independent yet team-focused

, you take initiative, solve problems with minimal direction, and seamlessly collaborate across functions, all while being flexible and self?motivated.

Rail/civils experience is a bonus

--if you've worked in rail, civil engineering, or maintenance sectors, you'll already understand the specific demands and regulatory environment we operate in.
