Our Role

We have a new exciting full-time permanent opportunity for an enthusiastic Compliance Assistant to join our client\'s team working Monday to Friday. We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Compliance Assistant to join a waste cooking oil business. You will support the Head of Compliance and play a vital role in ensuring the operations adhere to relevant industry standards, internal policies, and statutory and environmental regulations.

Reporting into the Director of Compliance duties shall include but not be restricted to:

  • Develop a basic understanding of relevant local, regional, and national regulations pertaining to waste management, environmental protection and health and safety.
  • Ensuring regulatory adherence and best practice.
  • Assisting managing the compliance standards.
  • Assist in maintaining and developing internal compliance policies, procedures, and guidelines related to waste oil collection, transportation, and processing.
  • Conduct regular audits to assess compliance with established protocols.
  • Ensure all necessary documentation and records are up to date and readily available.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Maintain and update accurate records of waste oil collection, transportation, and disposal.
  • Assist with management Information collating and reporting
  • Any other duties as directed within the grading of this role.
What skills / Qualifications do I need?
  • Prior experience in a compliance position preferred.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in using computer software (especially Excel and Word).
  • Self-motivated with strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • A commitment to grow and develop a career in Compliance including the desire to complete qualifications in H&S (IOSH/NEBOSH) or Med Risk Waste Management Competence.
  • Ability to build positive effective working relationships effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams
