Overview


CJN is seeking an experienced and highly competent

Site Manager

to join our team and lead the delivery of design and build construction projects across the UK. This pivotal role involves the day-to-day management of on-site operations, ensuring projects are executed to the highest standards of safety, quality, and programme compliance. You will be responsible for managing all on-site personnel and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to specifications, statutory requirements, and company procedures.

The successful candidate will have a solid track record of delivering high-value design and build projects, with a deep understanding of UK construction legislation, CDM regulations, and modern construction methods.

Key Objectives



Oversee the on-site delivery of design and build projects from commencement to completion. Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, including CDM 2015. Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure efficient project execution. Manage construction programmes and schedules, tracking key milestones and deliverables. Maintain effective site documentation including RAMS, progress reports, site diaries, and change records. Deliver projects to agreed specifications, on time, and within budget. Represent the company professionally in dealings with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities.

Primary Responsibilities



Plan, organise, and manage all on-site construction activities. Supervise subcontractors and direct labour to ensure quality workmanship and adherence to plans and specifications. Monitor cost performance, identifying potential budgetary deviations and implementing corrective measures as necessary. Conduct regular progress meetings, prepare reports, and communicate effectively with project teams and senior management. Ensure compliance with UK Building Regulations, NHBC or equivalent standards, and other statutory requirements. Coordinate and monitor material deliveries and site logistics to minimise delays and disruption. Uphold company standards in site presentation, safety, and quality at all times. Resolve technical and operational issues on site, escalating to the Project Manager where appropriate.

Essential Requirements



Proven experience as a Site Manager delivering design and build projects in the UK. A relevant qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent (HNC/HND or above). Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role within the UK construction industry. In-depth knowledge of UK construction methods, Building Regulations, CDM Regulations, and relevant HSE standards. Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project financial controls. Competency in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills. Ability to drive a project byond expectaions within a safe and structured enviroment

Desirable Qualifications



SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) First Aid at Work CSCS (Black or White Card) Professional membership (e.g. MCIOB, RICS, or equivalent) Experience using Asta Powerproject, Viewpoint, MS or similar platforms. BIM (Building Information Modelling) awareness or proficiency. Full UK driving licence.
