This role is responsible for driving an agenda on category and business performance within our Grains BU on our key brands Quaker and Scotts. Acting as a close partner to the Grains General manager you will support with using consumer and market data to solve business problems collaborating with colleagues across the full scope of our generating demand teams from marketing through to customer.

You will be confident and articulate to act as an independent voice of category performance and science of growth ('Growth Navigator') principles and comfortable in developing relationships across the Grains BU understanding their different needs and leading converting insights and analysis into clear messages and actionable insights. As part of the Business Intelligence team you will support the Business Intelligence Lead in developing best practices in the use of data to make decisions, working with our agency partners and off shore analytical teams in developing capabilities and tools to empower the wider business.
Responsibilities:

Lead monthly review of external business performance on Grains to feed into the monthly commercial review process (Hit Plan / MBR)Lead the preparation of content on external performance e.g category growth, market share, competitor performance, interpreting market data and distilling into single messages / recommendation Present this external performance summary to the commercial leadership (includes Sales, Finance, Marketing and NRM leads) Lead follow up actions from this session turning questions from the session into a clear brief, conducting / coordinating analysis and liasing with the relevant stakeholders on findings and recommendations


Own the overall category performance narrative on Grains: bringing this to QBR meetings, brand planning and strategic reviews and responding and adapting to business needs as and when they emergeLead the compilation of the Grains Quarterly Business Review (QBR) deck as the definitive narrative on drivers of Cereals and Grains category performance and how this impacts PepsiCo's Grains business Support the Grains General Manager through leading the briefs on business performance and market understanding required to develop and execute the Grains strategy Integrate with teams across the Grains Business (Marketing, NRM, Perfect Store, Category Management) establishing a strong working relationship, build an end to end narrative on Grains performance and helping them to identify, prioritise and address key business intelligence questions Collaborate with the Grains Marketing Insights Manager turning Grains business needs into clear briefs and supporting the Business Intelligence Lead in solving those briefs in the optimal way utilizing external agency (Nielsen, Kantar and ad hoc.) resources, off shore support and conducting key pieces of analysis Lead the compiling of Business Intelligence information for the Grains Annual Planning process (ICP) collaborating with Consumer and Strategic insights to give a one insights team point of view Support in the tracking of NPD performance, acting as the insights expert and helping the brand teams to establish the right benchmarks and navigate the process of tracking and understanding performance


Champion the implementation of the Growth Navigator within Grains and the Growth Navigator Scorecard within the UK BUDevelop knowledge of the Growth Navigator (science of growth) framework and principles to act as a champion for the approach within the Grains BU Lead the process of Growth Navigator scorecard updating and completion acting as the interface between the Global team and local SMEs, showing clear communication skills, organization and tenacity to ensure that content is completed to the required standard


Bring greater consumer centricity into the Grains business through leading the business intelligence agendaOwn and lead the delivery of a road map of in depth Business Intelligence studies to influence business thinking e.g. competitor deep dives, understanding segment / sub category performance Own the business' perspective on long term category growth trajectories modelling and aligning to a core scenario Collaborate with Consumer and Strategic Insights to tell one holistic story on Grains


Support the Business Intelligence lead in the furthering of best practice tools and capabilitiesLead the development of continuous data skills across the Grains community upskilling current team members and onboarding new joiners to develop a self serve skillset for day to day data requests and a consistent base of understanding of different data measures and sources and how they should be used Evolve the current suite of reports and tools available on Grains looking for simpler ways to deliver this information and ensuring they remain relevant to business needs Improve the service delivery of BI looking for opportunities for continuous improvement allowing information to be simpler, clearer and easily accessible and available at the point of need


Market share forecasting to feed into the commercial review processOwn and facilitate the process of market share forecasting for the Grains business owning the methodology and consolidating inputs Act as the authority on market growth projections ensuring these are grounded in consumer insights and market trends Collaborate with Finance on internal projections and estimating how these will be realized in market

Qualifications:
Proven ability to turn the complex into the simple, to cut through and focus on what really matters and tell simple stories utilising multiple sources Highly analytical, comfortable with working with complex data sources, analysing, interpreting and presenting information (Excel, Powerpoint, ThinkCell) Commercial awareness in terms of markets, competitors, the retail trade and macro issues Cross functional experience or exposure to the end to end generating demand value chain, the needs of different functions and roles across these teams and the different emphasis / approaches required to meet their needs Market insight technical expertise in the use of continuous data sources (Nielsen / Kantar) Capable of managing a level of ambiguity - gaining clarity on briefs, understanding underlying business drivers / concerns and how to articulate this into an insights brief Comfortable working with external agencies (Nielsen / Kantar) and offshore team (HBS Insight) - establishing ways of working, providing clear direction, knowing when to delegate and when to run analysis yourself Demonstrates an understanding of science lead principles of what drives sustainable brand growth as championed by the Ehrenberg-Bass institute
