Job Overview


PJH Co is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Contracts Manager / Estimating Junior - Assistant to join our growing team. This dual-role position supports the estimating and contract delivery functions across multiple projects, with an emphasis on developing knowledge in mechanical contracting. The successful candidate will work closely with senior members of the team to gain experience and progressively take on more responsibility in project estimation and contract administration.

Key Responsibilities:



Estimating Support-



Assist with the preparation of project estimates and tender submissions Take off quantities from drawings and specifications Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors for pricing and quotations Compile and maintain estimating databases, records, and cost libraries Support in analysing project specifications and drawings to determine scope and costs Attend site visits or tender briefings as required

Contracts Management Support-



Assist with the preparation and issue of subcontracts, work packages and purchase orders Help monitor project progress and identify variations or changes in scope Support contract administration including RFI submissions, client correspondence, and record-keeping Work with project managers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services Help ensure compliance with contract requirements, regulations, and company policies

Required Skills & Attributes:



Strong attention to detail and analytical skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively Willingness to learn and develop within a fast-paced contracting environment Strong organisational and documentation skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word)

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:



Previous experience or education in mechanical services, building services, or construction (desired but not essential) NVQ, HNC, or degree (or working towards) in Mechanical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline Understanding of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, heating) is a strong advantage Previous exposure to estimating or contracts roles in a construction environment would be beneficial

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 28,000.00-40,000.00 per year
