About Us

Essex Fire Protection Services are a trusted provider of passive fire protection solutions, specialising in fire stopping and fire doors. With third-party accreditations and a reputation for delivering compliance-driven projects, we are seeking a Contracts Manager to join our expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to oversee large-scale projects, develop client relationships, and play a key role in our company's continued growth.

The Role

The Contracts Manager will be responsible for leading multiple passive fire projects from pre-construction through to completion. You will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in line with compliance requirements. This position requires strong technical knowledge, organisational skills, and the ability to build strong working relationships with clients, operatives, and senior management.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and manage large-scale passive fire projects, ensuring delivery to specification and compliance with regulations. Provide technical knowledge and guidance on fire doors and fire stopping systems. Lead on construction phase planning, including labour allocation, programmes, and risk assessments. Manage Health & Safety requirements across projects, ensuring compliance with RAMS, audits, and best practice. Liaise with clients, consultants, and stakeholders, providing professional representation of the company. Produce progress reports for both clients and higher management. Support site supervisors and operatives in the successful execution of works. Monitor budgets, variations, and project costs to ensure profitability. Maintain accurate project documentation through company systems. Contribute to continuous improvement and training initiatives within the department.
Requirements

Proven experience as a Contracts Manager or Project Manager within the passive fire or wider construction sector. Strong technical understanding of fire doors and fire stopping systems. Demonstrated experience delivering large-scale projects with multiple stakeholders. Solid understanding of construction phase planning and labour allocation. Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and the ability to enforce them across sites. Excellent communication and reporting skills, both written and verbal. Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Full UK driving licence.
