Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Costs Assistant to join our team in providing support and assistance in various administrative tasks. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our office.
Duties:
- Liaising with external cost drafting companies & maintaining a strong working relationship to ensure SLAs are met for billing, negotiations and payments
Liaising with fee earners regarding bills, negotiations and settlements
Reviewing and responding to cost correspondence and ensuring swift turnaround within SLAs
Liaising with accounts department to provide breakdowns of cost payments
Maximising cost recovery through ensuring the administrative cost tasks are undertaken swiftly
Liaising with external suppliers regarding payments and invoicing
Providing regular management updates regarding SLAs and billing figures
Assisting with Part 8 enforcement & cost assessment proceedings (training will be given)
Skills:
- Proven experience as an Assistant or in a similar role
- Well organised with the ability to process and assimilate data using Excel and Proclaim
Ability to meet targets and work under pressure with high turnaround workload
Establish and maintain good working relationships with colleagues and external suppliers
Ability to prioritise workload and identify urgent tasks by using own initiative
- Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
