Job Summary:



The Staffordshire Moorlands' Creative People and Places Consortium is seeking a Freelance Creative Communities Producer for OUTSIDE, an exciting new participatory arts project in a stunning rural area of north Staffordshire including part of the Peak District National Park.

Job Overview:



The post holder will support the Creative Director to create radical change in the arts and culture offer in the Staffordshire Moorlands through the delivery and evaluation of the OUTSIDE project.

As OUTSIDE Creative Communities Producer you will be front facing, engaging, recruiting, empowering and nurturing community connections, ensuring the removal of barriers to enable participants to lead and shape culture in the place they live. You will be working with a wide range of stakeholders to develop fresh ideas and responses, bringing new relationships, perspectives, broadening horizons and raising aspirations for all.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, committed and compassionate and who has experience of working with a wide range of communities. Ideally you'll have a passion for social change and the role that arts and culture can play in this.

Key Responsibilities:



1. To inspire, recruit and support people to get involved with the OUTSIDE programme through building relationships and initiating artistic engagement which responds to relevance, usefulness and ambition.

2. Identify, engage and empower underserved audiences, enabling shared ownership, co-creation and co-production of high-quality arts events with local relevance.

3. Develop and work in partnership with a wide range of stakeholder organisations including community groups, parish councils, charities, support agencies etc... jointly developing a programme of engagement leading to the establishment of further cultural activity.

4. Pairing communities and artists together.

5. Undertaking day to day administration, including data capture for monitoring and evaluation, contracting and procurement.

6. Managing a budget attached to this work and reporting back to the director.

7. To be responsible for risk assessing engagement activity and developing event plans for programmes of work as appropriate.

8. Contribute to marketing and comms plans as appropriate including producing written, visual and / or audio material for OUTSIDE social media and website.

9. Any other duties as appropriate and reasonably required.

Person Specification:

OUTSIDE Creative Communities Producer

1. Experience working within communities with a diverse range of people.

2. Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate with a wide variety of people at all levels with a solution focused approach.

3. Facilitation skills and experience leading groups.

4. An active listener.

5. Ability to build strong relationships and work collaboratively.

6. Good motivation skills and a self-starter.

7. Experience mentoring individuals.

8. Experience completing monitoring and data information and creating case studies.

9. A good knowledge of and passion for theatre and the arts.

10. Excellent organisational skills and competent in Microsoft applications (particularly Excel.)

11. Willingness to work evenings and weekends on occasion and able to travel independently within a rural district.
