We are seeking an organised and detail-oriented Credit Controller to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the company's credit accounts, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining positive relationships with clients. Duties
Monitor and manage the company's accounts receivable to ensure prompt collection of outstanding invoices
Contact clients via phone, email, or letter to follow up on overdue payments
Reconcile accounts and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner
Maintain accurate records of all communications and transactions related to credit control activities
Prepare regular reports on debt collection status for management review
Collaborate with the accounts payable team to ensure smooth financial operations
Utilise accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero to update and manage client accounts
Assist in implementing credit policies and procedures to minimise financial risk
Support month-end closing processes related to receivables
Experience
Proven experience as a Credit Controller or in a similar finance role
Proficiency in accounting software including Excel and Xero is essential
Familiarity with other accounting systems and tools is advantageous
Experience managing accounts payable is desirable but not mandatory
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional approach to client interactions
Ability to work independently whilst maintaining attention to detail and accuracy
