We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Credit Controller to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the credit control process, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts, and maintaining accurate financial records. This role is essential in supporting the financial health of our organisation and requires a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and a strong understanding of financial services.
Duties
Manage the credit control process from start to finish, including sending out invoices and reminders.
Analyse customer accounts to identify overdue payments and implement appropriate follow-up actions.
Maintain accurate records of all communications with clients regarding their accounts.
Utilise accounting software to track payments and manage accounts payable effectively.
Conduct telemarketing activities to follow up on outstanding debts and negotiate payment plans where necessary.
Perform data entry tasks to ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
Collaborate with other departments to resolve any discrepancies related to customer accounts.
Provide reports on aged debt analysis and collection performance to management.
Qualifications
Proven experience in credit control or a similar finance-related role.
Strong knowledge of accounting software and its application in managing financial records.
Excellent phone etiquette with the ability to communicate effectively with clients.
Proficient in data entry with high attention to detail.
Experience in analysing financial data and making informed decisions based on findings.
Familiarity with accounts payable processes is advantageous.
A background in financial services is preferred but not essential.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
