About the role

We\'re looking for a Credit Risk Analyst to join our Mortgage Credit Risk team at our Head office in Leeds. The team use their analytical skills and experience to provide insight that helps our senior management make informed decisions.

If you are an experienced Analyst with a wealth of experience looking to take the next step in their career this could be the role for you. As a Credit Risk Analyst you will be responsible for the following:
  • Driving and delivering data-driven insights into the mortgage portfolios
  • Ensuring that insightful MI and analysis is produced and emerging risks are identified
  • Using analysis to design effective and robust credit strategies
  • Completing annual reviews and driving forward change to the mortgage credit assessment (affordability models, scorecard cut-offs, policy rules etc.)
  • Writing proposal papers for various Credit Risk committees
  • Coaching more junior analysts
This role is based within our Mortgage Credit Risk Policy, Decisioning and Analytics team, however all experience of other lending portfolios (Cards/Loans/Overdrafts) will be considered.

What will you bring to the role?

We\'re looking for someone who can demonstrate:
  • A strong Credit Risk background, ideally with experience of working with Mortgage portfolios
  • Strong analytical and SAS programming capability
  • Competent using Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • A degree, ideally in a numerate discipline (e.g., Maths, Statistics).
  • Proven ability to deliver to an agreed set of objectives
  • Strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail
  • A logical and analytical mind with a passion for solving complex problems
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Experience within the below would be desirable but not essential.
  • Experience of coaching more junior analysts
  • Knowledge of mortgage regulation (MCOB, PRA)
