(part of the Thomas Storey Group of Companies) is a bespoke manufacturer of metal fabrications working in mild steel, stainless, brass and aluminium supplying a diverse range of clients across a wide variety of sectors. We are now looking to recruit a commercially astute manager, to manage and develop customer relationships.
Purpose of the Role
The Customer Development Manager will be responsible for managing the end-to-end customer journey, from initial enquiry through to delivery. This role will focus on building strong, long-term relationships with customers, understanding their needs, and ensuring the company provides effective, tailored solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain close relationships with both existing and new customers by understanding their needs and challenges, identifying opportunities where the business can provide solutions.
Manage the complete sales process from enquiry through to despatch, ensuring a smooth and efficient customer experience.
Work closely with internal teams across production, design, and administration to ensure customer requirements are clearly communicated, understood, and delivered to the highest standard.
Act as the primary point of contact for customer accounts, handling queries, concerns, and feedback professionally and proactively.
Monitor sales performance and identify opportunities for growth within new and existing markets.
Provide regular reports and updates on customer activity, pipeline, and performance against targets.
Personal Requirements
Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role, preferably within manufacturing, engineering, or B2B sales.
Strong commercial awareness with proven experience in developing and managing customer relationships.
Good IT skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an outgoing and engaging personality.
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
