About the role
We are looking for a confident and customer-focused Customer Engagement Officer to join our team in Orpington. This role is ideal for someone with experience in financial services who enjoys speaking to customers, building relationships, and achieving sales and service targets.
You will be a key point of contact for customers, supporting them with new products, renewals, and general enquiries, while ensuring a high level of accuracy and customer care at all times.
What you'll be doing
You will spend most of your time speaking with customers and prospective customers, helping them understand our products and supporting them through applications and renewals. You'll work towards clear income and customer targets, making sure every interaction is handled professionally and accurately.
You'll also identify opportunities to refer customers to our Field Officers when appropriate and respond to inbound and outbound calls in line with agreed service standards.
Alongside this, you'll work closely with the Marketing and Field Teams, sharing customer feedback and ideas to improve engagement and retention. From time to time, you may support events or represent the organisation independently.
We are keen to continuously improve how we work, so you'll be encouraged to suggest ideas to improve processes, service quality, and the overall customer journey.

Essential experience and skills
Experience working in a sales environment
At least 2 years' experience in a customer-facing role within financial services (for example, a bank or building society supporting customers with savings, investments, or loans)
Comfortable working towards financial and service targets
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and other systems
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure
