About the Role

Oxford University Press is a department of the University of Oxford, which furthers the University\xe2\x80\x99s objective of excellence in research, scholarship, and education by publishing worldwide. The Press\xe2\x80\x99s Education Division provides educational resources and solutions to teachers, parents, learners and institutions in the UK and in countries around the world.

We are seeking an experienced Data Insights Lead (DIL) to support the wider Sales and Marketing functions in the day-to-day management of our enabling systems. Covering both content and qualifications functions, the DIL will support the team in its use of systems and data, develop reliable and consistent mechanisms for reporting sales team pipeline, build our data insights capability through reports and analytics tools, work with Magic Triangles to interpret data and market trends.

Key responsibilities in this role will include:

  • Work across Sales and Marketing functions to supply and interpret data/market trends as required.
  • Develop reliable mechanisms for reporting on sales team activity and pipeline.
  • Build out our interim strategy for CRM through detailed current state analysis, identifying what improvements are achievable within prescribed timeframes.
  • Develop our data insights capability as a global team.
  • Write and maintain high quality systems documentation, and training materials as required.
  • Support business change in relation to systems and processes, including projects and programmes as required, ensuring that impact has been analysed, and that the business is prepared and trained.
  • Work with sales functions to ensure that data on CRM systems is accurate and up-to-date, and supports the OUP data operating model and is interoperable across other enabling applications.
We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
  • Experience of working in publishing or a similar industry in a relevant role
  • Experience of working in a matrix organisation
  • Demonstrable analytical skills, subject matter expertise, and business knowledge
  • Excellent knowledge of system development lifecycle, and best practice for system change management
  • Ability to multi-task effectively and adapt well to the fast pace of change in the organisation.
