Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with
SEMH and behavioural needs
Use effective
de-escalation strategies
and
positive behaviour management
techniques
Build strong, trusting relationships to support pupils' emotional regulation and confidence
Promote engagement, motivation, and success in learning activities
Record incidents accurately and follow safeguarding and reporting procedures
Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral leads, SENCOs, and external professionals
About You
The ideal candidate will:
Have experience supporting children or young people with
SEMH or behavioural challenges
(in schools, youth work, or alternative provision)
Be calm, empathetic, and resilient in challenging situations
Have strong communication and relationship-building skills
Be confident using
restorative and relational approaches
to behaviour
Be passionate about inclusion and supporting every young person to reach their potential
