Job Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic Driver's Assistant/Bakery Assistant to join our company to support our driver on daily bakery deliveries. The ideal candidate will have a positive, friendly approach to customer service. Duties will include loading stock into vehicle and into customer premises. This role offers an opportunity to work in a busy environment where pride in our product is a priority. Reliability and good timekeeping are highly valued. Previous experience in delivery, warehouse work, or heavy lifting is advantageous, along with strong communication skills. The Assistant will play a vital role supporting the driver in maintaining the quality and efficiency of our deliveries. Additionally, the Assistant will work within the packaging area of production in between delivery schedules. A 5am start is necessary to ensure all deliveries are completed.

Duties

Assist in the packaging and presentation of baked goods according to company standards Support the packaging and labelling of products for sale or delivery Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bakery workspace Load and unload deliveries, ensuring proper handling of goods with heavy lifting when necessary Assist with stock replenishment and inventory management Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks and deliveries Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients or customers during deliveries

Qualifications

Previous experience as a delivery driver or in commercial driving is preferred Valid driver's licence or equivalent driving certification desirable but not compulsory Experience working in a warehouse environment or with heavy lifting tasks Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and customers Ability to work safely and responsibly within busy environments Physical fitness to handle heavy lifting and long periods of standing or moving around the premises Organised, reliable, and able to work efficiently under pressure
