Hours: Full time - 35 hours per week / 70 hours over two weeks (nine-day fortnight)



The role




We are looking to recruit a Delivery Development Manager, to join our South Team. Our South region stretches from the Midlands into the South East & South West. The majority of our new developments will fall into the SE and Midlands region, so a willingness to travel and flexibility is essential. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates residing within the Home Counties.


Within the role you will be responsible for the Project Management of multiple multi-million-pound construction projects with critical emphasis on providing specialist technical leadership for the design, construction, and delivery of specific development projects to time and budget. Meeting key milestones and objectives and building effective working relationships internally across the organisation and with Consultants, Contractors, Local Authorities, Homes England, the Greater London Authority and others.


The role will also encompass some new business, so the successful candidate must have pre-contract experience and the knowledge and skills to bring forward schemes from pre-contract into delivery. Experience of appraising schemes, and managing cashflow, alongside knowledge of planning legislation, JCT contracts and negotiation are crucial to this role.


The successful candidate will be a recognised construction and delivery expert able to solve complex problems.


This is a mobile role and there will be regular travelling. The successful candidate will be required to attend scheme progress meetings on a regular basis and team meetings and training which may be held out of region.

What we're looking for




The essential requirements for the role include:

Excellent knowledge of constructions standards, regulation and legislation including Health & Safety and proven experience of managing these at senior level Excellent IT skills and used to working with Microsoft functionalities, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook Knowledge and experience of different forms of building contract, familiarity with a range of building construction processes, experience of building refurbishment and new-build constructions Knowledge of Homes England/GLA funding funding and development procedures and relevant legislation Knowledge and experience of different types of Legal Agreements for Statutory Authorities Extensive experience of successful housing development, managing resources and delivering projects A track record of project management and negotiation Experience of supervising, monitoring and managing a team of professional and technical staff Experience in using project management software, word processing, spreadsheets and databases A relevant professional qualification and/or degree in construction
