Deputy Manager

If you can answer yes to those questions, and would like to work as the Deputy Manager, we would love to hear from you, as we are looking to recruit a Deputy Manager who can support the Registered Manager in the day to day running of the home.
Belmont Residential Care Ltd is looking for a Deputy Manager to work in its children's home. The Home is registered to care for 3 children/young people between the ages of 11 and 18 with emotional and behavioural difficulties.

Main Purpose of the Job:
? To work alongside the Registered Manager to manage the service's existing workforce and resources, as well as to promote and safeguard the welfare of the young people in our care.
? To assist the manager in achieving the aims and objectives of the Statement of Purpose.
? To support and manage the staff to enable them to meet the needs of the children and young people.
? To be the responsible person in managing child protection concerns and complaints.
? To work in partnership with other professionals to achieve the best outcomes for young people
? To ensure that resources are allocated appropriately and financial records are accurately maintained.
? To deputise in the absence of the Registered Manager and be able to lead a team
? To implement and manage the staff Rota ensuring sufficient cover for each shift
? Audit and check care plans, risk assessments, personnel files, medication and our CRM system Mentor
? Provide Leadership to the team and act as a positive role model to the Residential Support Workers and Team Leaders
? Ensure staff are motivated, working together and everyone's common goal is the well being of the young people
? Contribute the development and quality of the service in line with Ofsted and local authority guidelines
? Stay within budget and be able to manage and monitor the finances of the home within targets.
Person Specification:
? A good standard of literacy and numeracy
? NVQ 3 / Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
? Residential Experience
? Team Building and Supervision Skills
? Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
? Understanding the needs of young people who have experienced trauma including managing challenging behaviours
? Good organisational skills
As we work with vulnerable young people you will need to complete a job application form with a self-disclosure before we can invite to interview. Requirements for DBS reference checking will be undertaken in line with government regulations, and safer recruitment best practice.
