We have an exciting opportunity to Join SV Care Services as a Deputy Manager, to undertake a vital role at a Children's Residential Home based in Romford.

Working as a Deputy Manager of a Children's Residential Home, you must be willing to go above and beyond for the young people, ensuring they have an experience of childhood that they can reflect upon and carry with them into adulthood.

As the Deputy Manager, you must have the ability to connect with those you meet and build meaningful, productive working relationships.

Roles and Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:

*Ensure the young people receive a sensitive residential service which best meets their individual health care, social, cultural, racial, psychological, physical identity and educational needs.

*Assist the Registered Manager in providing operational management of the staff team and deploy resources to achieve key objectives.

*Assist the Registered Manager in ensuring the Statement of Purpose for the home is updated and accurate at all times.

*Co-ordinate and monitor staffing levels to ensure individual needs are met, and participate in the recruitment selection process to maintain required staffing levels.

*Organise/co-ordinate and deliver staff inductions, supervisions, appraisals and provide effective leadership to staff members to deliver person-centred childcare to achieve the best outcomes for each young person.

*Implement, review and update all relevant documentation for both the staff and young people within the home, in line with legislation and company policies.

*Demonstrate a working knowledge of the Children's Home Regulations 2015, The Quality Care Standards and the SCCIF, under which the home is measured and assessed against, and promptly implement any recommendations or requirements to improve the service following OFSTED inspections.

*To ensure you and the staff team implement and adhere to all company policies, particularly the Safeguarding Policy, and Local Authority Safeguarding Procedures.

*Work with the Registered Manager to ensure the home is fit for purpose by ensuring Fire Regulations and Health and Safety Regulations are met, and Quality Assurance and Regulation 44 actions are addressed promptly.

*Work cohesively with both internal and external stake holders, ensuring all significant events, incidents, important changes and physical interventions are reported to the appropriate professional within a 24-hour timeframe.

*Undertake all administrative tasks required for the effective running of the home

Actively take part in the on-call system outside of designated hours

About You

Applicants must have:

Experience of Supervising staff in a care role
Experience in children's residential care
Experience of managing staff rotas
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Experience of deputising for the Registered Manager in their absence
Strong knowledge of OFSTED regulations
Qualifications:

Current Level 3/Level 4 Working with Young People Willingness to work towards achieving Level 5 in Management (within agreed time scales) Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
