If so, we at Fair Tree Group have a fantastic opportunity for a deputy manager for a Good rated home. We provide a loving and caring home for up to three children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties.

The home's current deputy manager has progressed and is transitioning to become a registered manager for their own home, which has led to a fantastic opportunity for the right person to step into the deputy managers role.

Job Summary


To be responsible to the Registered manager for the day-to-day running of the home and for the delivery of the day-to-day care to the children.

To ensure that the teams maintain child-centred principles and provide direct care and safeguarding to the children and young people.

To assist in leading staff to operate within the legal parameters as described in the companies' policies and procedures.

To support the service's business, clinical & social development.

To share responsibility in protecting company assets and be proactive in securing a positive company image.

To support the team to deliver the module of care in the home.

Key Responsibilities:



To lead a team of residential care staff when on shift, ensuring that safe and appropriate care practices are maintained at all times.

To assume overall management responsibility for the home during any periods of absence of the manager.

To support the manager in all aspects of the operational management of the establishment.

To maintain the development of safe and positive childcare practices in keeping with the aims and objectives of the establishment.

To provide a safe, warm and supportive environment to our children and young people.

To be involved in the planning and organisation of the home.

To maintain a regular system of recording in connection with each young person in order to be able to track plans and progress in line with the Children's Home's Regulations 2015.

To be involved in the implementation of care plans.

To assist in the provision of reports when required.

To ensure that care staff conduct themselves within the guidelines of the establishment when on shift.

To assist with the process of development, implementation and review of home's policies.

To delegate tasks to residential staff and seniors.

To coordinate the daily routine of the home.

To promote and maintain high standards of cleanliness.

To participate in the general activities of the establishment.

To use any personal skills, you may have to maximise opportunity for each child or young person.

To make outside contacts individually and through various activities developed within and outside the establishment.

To undertake delegated household duties.

To attend and deliver regular supervision sessions as required.

To attend team meetings and training sessions as required.

To accept responsibility for such money as may be required in the carrying out of necessary duties.

To undertake sleeping in duties as required.

To comply with the policies and procedures of the establishment.

To be available on an on-call basis to cover staff shortfalls and/or operational deficiencies.

To deal with telephone enquiries and undertake administrative duties as required e.g. logbooks, daily logs, incident forms, handovers etc.

To maintain case file records.

Any other duties as may be reasonably requested by the manager.

Responsibilities



To foster and encourage, wherever appropriate contact between children, young people and their families.

To maintain good liaison and co-operate with external agencies and professionals e.g. social workers, consultant staff, schools etc.

To develop a responsible attitude with children and young people with regard to the fabric, furnishings, equipment, supplies and services in/out of the establishment.

To support children and young people in all domestic aspects of their personal space and the communal area of the home.

To demonstrate both sensitivity and appropriate assertiveness.

To work in a pressured environment with groups of diverse children, young people and staff.

To carry out the duties of the post in a mature and responsible manner, seeking and receiving support aa necessary.

To use adequate training such as de-escalation, breakaway and physically intervention if a child's behaviour is dangerous to others or themselves, in accordance with the procedural guidelines of the establishment and relevant legislation.

To participate in the construction and implementation of care plans on individual young persons placed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 32,500.00-37,500.00 per year
