We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join our Team at Longton Nursing Home. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the management team, overseeing daily operations, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient and resident care. This role requires a compassionate individual with strong leadership skills, a comprehensive understanding of various care environments, and experience working with diverse patient groups including those with dementia, disabilities, or requiring hospice care. The Deputy Manager will be instrumental in maintaining compliance with healthcare standards and fostering a supportive environment for both staff and residents.
Duties
Assist the management team in coordinating daily operations across the Nursing Home.
Supervise and support care staff, ensuring adherence to care plans and organisational policies.
Oversee patient care activities, including medication administration, dementia care (including Alzheimer's).
Manage case documentation, coordinate assessments, and facilitate effective case management strategies.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations whilst maintaining high standards of hygiene and infection control.
Participate in staff recruitment, training, performance reviews, and scheduling to optimise team management.
Liaise with families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies to coordinate comprehensive care plans.
Assist in developing policies for senior care services that promote dignity, independence, and personalised support for residents.
Experience
Proven experience in assisted living or nursing home environments with a focus on senior or hospice care.
Demonstrable supervisory or team management experience within healthcare settings.
Knowledge of dementia (including Alzheimer's) care practices and managing patients with complex needs.
Familiarity with medication administration protocols and case management systems.
Prior experience working within Nursing Home settings
Medication safety standards. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, organised, adaptable under pressure, and committed to delivering exceptional patient-centred care across diverse healthcare environments.
