to support the daily operations of a well-established and highly regarded nursery in Hove. This role is ideal for a strong Room Leader, Senior Practitioner, or existing Deputy Manager ready to make a meaningful impact.
You will be a key member of the management team, responsible for delivering outstanding care and education in line with the EYFS framework, while ensuring a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for children and educators.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Nursery Manager with the day-to-day running of the setting, including staffing, compliance, and operational tasks
Motivate, inspire and lead a team of early years professionals to deliver high standards of care and learning
Maintain excellent knowledge and implementation of the EYFS, safeguarding, and health & safety regulations
Oversee planning and delivery of creative and engaging activities that promote child development
Manage staff rotas and ensure appropriate ratios are maintained at all times
Deputise for the Nursery Manager in their absence
Contribute to recruitment, onboarding and staff development
Build and maintain strong partnerships with parents, carers, and the wider community
Requirements
Essential:
A full and relevant Level 3 qualification (or above) in Early Years Education or Childcare
Previous leadership experience in a nursery setting (Room Leader or above)
Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework, safeguarding, and regulatory standards
Excellent organisational and communication skills
A commitment to continuous professional development and high-quality early years education
Desirable:
Experience in nursery administration and compliance
Proven track record in team leadership and staff training
Familiarity with Ofsted requirements and experience supporting inspections
