We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Deputy Nursery Manager to join our well-established and forward-thinking early years team. This role is ideal for an experienced early years practitioner who is ready to take on a leadership position and support the smooth and effective day-to-day running of the nursery.
You will work closely with the Nursery Manager to ensure that high standards of care, education, and compliance are consistently met. This position also offers excellent career development opportunities, with a clear pathway towards a future Nursery Manager role.
Key Responsibilities
Lead by example to ensure high-quality care and early years education across the nursery
Support the Nursery Manager in all operational aspects, including staffing, planning, and administration
Supervise and mentor team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration
Maintain full compliance with EYFS, safeguarding, and health and safety requirements
Contribute to planning and delivering a creative and stimulating curriculum tailored to children's needs
Develop strong relationships with parents and carers, ensuring excellent communication and engagement
Oversee documentation including care plans, medication records, and developmental observations
Play a key role in Ofsted readiness and the nursery's continuous improvement journey
Requirements
Essential:
Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education or Childcare (or equivalent)
Minimum 1 year's experience in an early years environment
Sound understanding of the EYFS framework, safeguarding, and relevant early years legislation
Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
Desirable:
Previous experience in a Deputy or Room Leader role
Level 5 qualification in Early Years Leadership or equivalent
Experience contributing to a 'Good' or 'Outstanding' Ofsted inspection
