Job Summary
We are looking for a qualified, experienced, and enthusiastic
Deputy Nursery Manager
to join our team. This is a key leadership role within the nursery, responsible not only for the day-to-day running of a room but also for leading and supporting a team to ensure the
EYFS is embedded in everyday practice
, safeguarding children and promoting the highest standards of care and education.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and inspire a team of practitioners to deliver high-quality early years education and care.
Embed the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework effectively within your room, ensuring it drives all aspects of planning, observation, and assessment.
Promote and implement safeguarding practices, ensuring the safety and well-being of all children at all times.
Support, mentor, and supervise staff, providing guidance, feedback, and opportunities for development.
Model outstanding practice and encourage a reflective approach within the team.
Maintain open, effective communication with parents, providing regular updates and ensuring a strong partnership.
Contribute to the wider leadership of the nursery, working collaboratively with the management team.
Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and Ofsted requirements.
Requirements
Level 3 qualification or above
in Early Years Education or Childcare (essential).
Proven experience managing or leading a team
in an early years setting (essential).
Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and its practical implementation (essential).
Excellent knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and health and safety procedures.
Confident communicator with excellent verbal and written English skills.
Passionate about delivering high-quality early years education and fostering a love of learning.
A positive, professional role model with strong leadership and organisational skills.
