Job Description

The County Hospital Day Nursery is looking to hire an experienced deputy manager, we are a popular and busy nursery based within the grounds of the County Hospital. This is a full time position (40hrs per week).

The successful applicant should have experience of working in a day nursery, excellent child development knowledge with managerial experience. You should be enthusiastic and adaptable, you must have a kind and caring nature with a genuine love of working with children and wanting the best outcomes for them.

All applicants must be able to work within a team and take the lead where necessary, maintaining professionalism at all times. A comprehensive knowledge of the EYFS and its implementation is essential. Senco experience is also desired.

All applicants MUST be qualified in early years and education and hold a level 3/4 qualification, a degree level would be desired, but not essential.

It is essential that you have at least 3 years post qualifying experience.

Safeguarding training is required, along with First Aid and other statutory training. Other training opportunities are available.

Responsibilities include,

Running the nursery when the manager is absent
Ensure the smooth and safe running of the nursery
Liaise with parents/early years/ofsted
Support staff
Support parents
Take payments
be able to confidently explain the working parents funding
To help parents with statements
*Implement nursery policies

You will need to have experience in managing people and working within the statutory guidance. Building partnerships with parents and making links with the local authority. You will need a full enhanced DBS.
