Deputy Nursery Manager

London, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

We are recruiting on behalf of a nursery just a short walk from Hammersmith station. This purpose-built, 92-place nursery offers an exceptional working environment for passionate Early Years Educators looking to thrive in a child-centred, inspiring setting.

Set within the tranquil Frank Banfield Park, the nursery boasts extensive outdoor space, including multiple gardens specifically designed for different age groups - from babies as young as three months to children up to five years old. These tailored spaces allow children to explore safely and develop their natural curiosity through play and discovery.

Inside, the nursery features four spacious, well-equipped rooms that support key areas of development: sensory exploration, gross motor skills, communication and language, independence, and social interaction.

The nursery's mission is to provide a warm, nurturing, and inclusive environment where each child is encouraged to grow confidently as an individual. There is a strong emphasis on building resilience, fostering a love for learning, and supporting children to try new things and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

Baby Room Focus (70%)

Provide high-quality care and early education tailored to the needs of babies aged 3-24 months. Foster a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment that supports emotional and developmental growth. Engage in age-appropriate play, sensory activities, and routines that promote early learning and bonding. Build strong relationships with key children and their families, supporting smooth transitions and open communication.

Operational & Administrative Support (30%)

Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, safeguarding protocols, nursery policies, and OFSTED standards. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including risk assessments, attendance logs, incident reports, and safeguarding documentation. Support with staff inductions and training, including the use of the Blossom educational platform. Assist with managing staff rotas to ensure appropriate ratios and room coverage. Contribute to curriculum planning and the organisation of events, outings, and enrichment activities. Help with administrative tasks such as enrolment processes, parent communication, and basic budget oversight.
