We are looking for a passionate and experienced deputy to take on a room-based leadership role in a busy nursery setting. The nursery cares for up to 86 children and is running at near full occupancy, supported by an incredibly approachable and supportive manager.
Job Overview
In this role, you'll lead practice within your room while supporting the wider nursery team to provide the highest standards of care and education. You'll act as a role model for staff, ensure compliance with EYFS and safeguarding requirements, and help create a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment for children.
Key Responsibilities
Lead your room team to deliver high-quality learning and care.
Support staff development, training, and daily practice.
Maintain strong relationships with parents through clear and positive communication.
Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, and Ofsted standards.
Contribute to planning and delivering engaging educational activities.
Support with rotas, ratios, and room organisation.
Complete observations, assessments, and accurate record-keeping.
What We're Looking For
Level 3 or above in Early Years Education and Childcare.
Experience leading a room or team in a busy nursery setting.
Strong understanding of EYFS, safeguarding, and compliance.
Confident communicator with parents and colleagues.
A positive, supportive leader with a passion for childcare.
