Our brand new nursery in the heart of Central Gosforth are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Deputy Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the overall management of our establishment, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children. This position requires a strong leader with excellent communication skills and a passion for early childhood education.
Duties
Assist the Manager in the daily operations of the nursery, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
Provide effective leadership to staff, fostering a positive team environment that promotes professional development.
Engage with children, facilitating activities that support their learning and development in line with early years frameworks.
Maintain high standards of care and education, ensuring the safety and well-being of all children.
Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing updates on children's progress and addressing any concerns.
Oversee the planning and implementation of age-appropriate activities that cater to the diverse needs of children.
Assist in staff recruitment, training, and performance evaluations to ensure a high-quality workforce.
Manage administrative tasks related to nursery operations, including record keeping and compliance documentation.
Managing the nursery in the manager's absence.
Experience
An approved Level 3 qualification or above in early years education.
Proven experience in a management or leadership role within a childcare setting is essential.
Background in early childhood education or relevant qualifications is highly desirable.
Experience working with children in various capacities, such as childcare or nursery settings.
Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal, to effectively engage with staff, parents, and children.
Experience in maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and health and safety protocols.
Strong understanding of safeguarding children
