We are currently
recruiting on behalf of a well-established nursery setting in Westminster
, located close to the Houses of Parliament. The nursery was newly refurbished in 2020 and operates from a former church hall, offering a large, open-plan space for pre-schoolers on the ground floor and individual activity rooms on the first floor, all designed to support early years development and learning.
The nursery cares for up to 70 children aged from three months to five years old and is seeking a passionate and experienced
Deputy Nursery Manager
to join their dedicated team and lead the 2-3s room. This is a key leadership role within the setting, supporting the Nursery Manager in day-to-day operations and ensuring that the highest standards of care and education are upheld.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure the nursery remains fully compliant with Ofsted regulations, policies, and safeguarding procedures
Support and guide staff to deliver high-quality care and developmentally appropriate education
Delegate tasks effectively, prioritising the safety and wellbeing of all children
Step into the Nursery Manager role when required to ensure smooth and consistent operations
Communicate regularly with parents and carers regarding their child's development and progress
Prepare weekly staff rotas, ensuring appropriate ratios, staff coverage, and working hours are maintained
Manage invoicing and respond to parent queries professionally and promptly
Provide support to staff and families around behaviour management and positive behaviour strategies
Conduct risk assessments for outings, maintaining children's safety beyond the nursery environment
Lead the 2-3s room, managing observations, 2-year progress checks, dietary needs, and staff break cover
What We're Looking For:
A compassionate, empathetic, and organised early years professional with excellent communication skills
Strong leadership qualities and experience managing or supervising nursery staff
In-depth understanding of the EYFS and a track record of delivering high-quality childcare
Confidence in building relationships with parents, carers, and external agencies
A warm, approachable, and professional presence with both children and adults
