Deputy Nursery Manager

About the Role



Working closely with the Nursery Manager, you'll play a vital part in overseeing the smooth running of the setting. You'll guide and mentor your team, ensure exceptional standards of care and education, and foster an inclusive, inspiring atmosphere for children and staff alike.

Key responsibilities include:



Supporting the overall management and leadership of the nursery Leading by example to promote best practice and continuous improvement Ensuring high standards of care, learning, and safeguarding are consistently delivered Assisting with curriculum planning and EYFS implementation Supervising, developing, and motivating staff through coaching and regular feedback Building strong partnerships with families and external professionals Upholding full compliance with regulatory, policy, and health and safety requirements Championing a warm, inclusive, and engaging environment

What We're Looking For



Essential:



Level 3 or higher qualification

in Early Years Education or Childcare Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a nursery setting Strong working knowledge of

EYFS

, safeguarding, and early years regulations Excellent communication, organisational, and team leadership skills A proactive, supportive, and solutions-focused mindset

Desirable:



Experience preparing for or supporting

Ofsted inspections

Familiarity with nursery administration, compliance, and reporting A genuine passion for nurturing both children and staff in their development
