Your Role at a Glance
As Deputy Manager, you'll work closely with the Nursery Manager to ensure the smooth, effective running of the setting. From leading practice on the floor to coaching staff and ensuring compliance, your role will be both hands-on and strategic. You'll be a key player in maintaining the high standards our families expect--and our children deserve.
Your day-to-day will include:
Supporting the Nursery Manager in all aspects of nursery operations
Taking the lead in their absence and ensuring continuity across the setting
Leading, motivating, and guiding the team to deliver outstanding care and learning
Ensuring EYFS and safeguarding standards are consistently met
Contributing to curriculum planning and enhancing learning outcomes
Offering regular support, feedback, and development opportunities to staff
Building strong, positive relationships with parents and external partners
Maintaining a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for all
What You'll Bring
We're looking for someone who leads with warmth, professionalism, and purpose--someone who's passionate about helping others grow, from children to colleagues.
You'll need:
A minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education (Level 4/5 desirable)
Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role in a nursery setting
Strong understanding of the EYFS, safeguarding protocols, and Ofsted requirements
Great communication, teamwork, and leadership skills
A calm, proactive approach with a strong focus on solutions and support
A genuine love for early years education and a commitment to high standards
Bonus if you also have:
Experience contributing to Ofsted inspections
Knowledge of nursery systems, compliance, and reporting procedures
