Deputy Nursery Manager

The Role

As Deputy Nursery Manager, you'll play a key role in the smooth running of the nursery, supporting the Nursery Manager with all aspects of leadership and operations. You'll also step up in their absence, ensuring consistency, stability, and high-quality standards across the setting.

Key responsibilities include:



Supporting the Nursery Manager across all areas of operations and compliance Leading, motivating, and mentoring the team to deliver outstanding care and education Ensuring EYFS, safeguarding, and Ofsted requirements are met and maintained Contributing to curriculum planning and enhancing learning outcomes for children Coaching and developing staff through feedback, training, and role modelling Building strong relationships with parents, carers, and external professionals Creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment where every child can flourish
About You

We're looking for a confident and approachable leader who combines professional expertise with warmth, resilience, and a genuine passion for early years.

You'll need:



A minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification (Level 4/5 desirable) Previous supervisory or management experience in a nursery setting Strong knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding, and Ofsted requirements Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills A proactive, solution-focused approach and commitment to quality childcare

Desirable:



Experience supporting or leading Ofsted inspections Familiarity with nursery compliance and reporting systems
