About the Role



As

Deputy Nursery Manager

, you will play a key role in the daily operations of the nursery. Working closely with the Nursery Manager, you'll help lead the team, maintain compliance with statutory regulations, and ensure the delivery of high-quality care and education.
You'll also step up as Acting Manager in their absence, maintaining stability, performance, and standards across the setting.

Key Responsibilities:



Support the Nursery Manager in all areas of operations, leadership, and compliance. Lead, motivate, and mentor a team of Early Years Practitioners to deliver outstanding childcare and education. Ensure full adherence to

EYFS

,

Ofsted

, and

safeguarding

standards. Oversee curriculum planning and enhance learning outcomes for all children. Provide coaching, feedback, and professional development for staff. Build positive relationships with parents, carers, and external partners. Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment where every child can flourish. Support with budgeting, staff rotas, and day-to-day management duties.

About You



You're an enthusiastic, approachable leader with a genuine passion for Early Years education and a commitment to supporting your team to achieve their best.

Essential Requirements:



Minimum

Level 3 Early Years qualification

(Level 4 or 5 desirable). Proven leadership or supervisory experience within an Early Years setting. Strong understanding of the EYFS framework, safeguarding, and Ofsted requirements. Excellent communication, organisation, and people-management skills. A proactive, solution-focused mindset and commitment to continuous improvement.

Desirable:



Experience supporting or leading Ofsted inspections. Familiarity with nursery management systems and compliance processes.
