Deputy Nursery Manager - Lead, Inspire, Grow

About the Role

As Deputy Nursery Manager, you will play a vital role in the smooth running of the nursery. Working closely with the Nursery Manager, you will support daily operations, uphold regulatory compliance, and lead the team to deliver high-quality Early Years education and care.

You will also act as Manager in their absence, ensuring consistency, stability, and the continued success of the setting.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Nursery Manager across all areas of operations, leadership, and compliance. Lead, mentor, and motivate Early Years Practitioners to deliver outstanding childcare and education. Ensure full compliance with EYFS, safeguarding, Ofsted, and health & safety standards. Oversee curriculum planning and contribute to high-quality learning experiences. Provide coaching, feedback, and professional development opportunities for staff. Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and external partners. Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for all children. Support with budgeting, staff rotas, recruitment, and day-to-day management duties.

About You

You are an enthusiastic, approachable leader with a genuine passion for Early Years education and a commitment to supporting your team to achieve their best.

Essential Requirements:

Minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification (Level 4 or Level 5 desirable). Proven supervisory or leadership experience in an Early Years setting. Strong understanding of the EYFS framework, safeguarding, and Ofsted requirements. Excellent communication, organisational, and people-management skills. A proactive, solution-focused approach and commitment to continuous improvement.

Desirable:

Experience supporting or leading Ofsted inspections. Familiarity with nursery management systems and compliance processes.
