We have an opportunity for a full time Deputy Manager to join our management team.
The right candidate must hold a level 3 or above relevant childcare qualification.
Hours: Full-time and all year round (Monday to Friday 40 hours on a shift basis 7.30a.m - 6.00p.m)
Salary: Negotiable dependant upon experience
Purpose of Post
1. To work under the direction of the Childcare Manager as required.
2. To support the aims and objectives of the nursery and assist the manager in the organisation of a high quality establishment for children from 3 months to five years.
3. To provide high standards of childcare and education to include the monitoring and reviews of provisions, this includes providing a safe and caring environment to enable the emotional, social and educational development of children, through individual attention and group activities.
4. To direct and support staff as agreed by the Childcare Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities
1. To promote the aims and objectives of the nursery.
2. To promote the high standards of the nursery at all times to parents, staff and visitors. 3. In the absence of the manager, show prospective parents around the nursery facilities and send out relevant information.
4. To ensure the provision of high standards of care and education at all times.
5. To lead a team of professional workers and to ensure good practice at all times.
6. To assist the manager in setting and implementing objectives and policies for the nursery.
7. To assist with the planning and organisation of staffing schedules and holiday rota's to ensure adequate staffing levels are maintained in accordance with Ofsted guidelines and nursery procedures.
8. To assist with the implementation of administrative procedures involved with registration, place allocation and other related matters.
9. To assist with the development and implementation of systems to monitor and record child development.
10. To be responsible for the health and safety standards appropriate for the needs of young children and ensuring staff compliance and awareness.
11. To ensure high standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times.
12. To ensure the provision of a high quality environment to meet the needs of individual children from differing cultures and religious backgrounds, and stages of development and training.
13. To ensure confidentiality of information received.
14. To assist with staff development training.
15. To ensure supervision of students in placement within the nursery.
16. Liaise with parents, carers, family members and staff to help ensure that particular needs of children are met and that parental choice is considered in terms of care given.
17. To liaise with outside agencies as required.
18. To assist the manager with the efficient upkeep of the building and maintenance, stock of equipment, furnishings and fittings.
19. Maintaining staff awareness of fire drill in accordance with the code of practice.
20. To assist the manager with organizing monthly staff / planning meetings and training sessions outside working hours.
21. To undertake such other duties and responsibilities of an equivalent nature as may be determined from time to time by the nursery manager.
22. To deputise in the manager's absence.
23. Assist the manager in the marketing of the nursery to maintain full occupancy.
24. Assist the manager in the recruitment and selection of staff.
25. To take every reasonable opportunity to maintain and improve your professional knowledge and competence.
