About the Role



We are seeking a dedicated and experienced

Deputy Nursery Manager

to support the leadership of our established nursery in Surbiton. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified early years professional who is passionate about high-quality education and care, and who brings strong leadership and organisational skills to their work.

Working closely with the Nursery Manager, you will play a central role in overseeing daily operations, supporting staff, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional learning experiences in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.

Key Responsibilities



Support the day-to-day management of the nursery to ensure smooth and effective operations Provide leadership and guidance to the team, modelling high standards of early years practice Oversee the planning and delivery of a broad, engaging and developmentally appropriate curriculum Contribute to staff training, supervision, and performance management processes Build strong, positive relationships with children, parents and carers Maintain a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment for all children and team members Support the growth of occupancy by leading nursery tours and engaging with prospective families Ensure full compliance with safeguarding legislation, health and safety, and Ofsted standards

About You



Essential Requirements:



Level 3 qualification (or above) in Early Years Education or Childcare Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role within an early years setting Excellent knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding, and statutory frameworks Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills A proactive and child-centred approach, with a focus on continuous improvement

Desirable:



Experience supporting Ofsted inspections Familiarity with nursery management systems and administrative procedures Experience conducting staff supervisions and performance reviews
