We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Leader to join our team in a nurturing environment focused on early childhood education. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and possess strong leadership qualities. This role involves supporting the management of our preschool, ensuring that children receive high-quality care and education while fostering a safe and engaging atmosphere.
Duties
Assist in managing daily operations of the nursery, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Support the planning and implementation of age-appropriate activities that promote children's development.
Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff to foster a collaborative environment.
Drive initiatives that enhance the overall experience for children in our care.
Provide guidance and support to junior staff members, promoting teamwork and professional growth.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised environment for all children.
Monitor children's progress and provide feedback to parents regarding their development.
Qualifications
NVQ Level 5 in Childcare, Learning and Development or Play work or a relevant occupational qualification in Early Years Education, Nursing, teaching, or health visiting or equivalent. AND 2 years' experience working in a play education or childcare setting.
BAhons Early Childhood Studies/Early years degree
Experience
Minimum 2 years working with children in a preschool or other childcare setting.
Skills & Knowledge
Experiences of planning and observations in a preschool setting.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Proficient in Microsoft word/excel/PowerPoint/publisher
Knowledge of Preschool curriculum
Current Safeguarding Child Protection Certificate (desirable)
Current DCPO Child Safeguarding Certificate (desirable)
Current Food Hygiene Certificate (desirable)
Current Paediatric First Aid Certificate (desirable)
Experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting is essential.
Strong understanding of early childhood education principles is preferred.
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Proven leadership abilities with experience managing teams or projects.
A genuine passion for nurturing children's growth and development.
