Are you an experienced RMN or RNLD with proven leadership skills and a passion for CAMHS? We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Deputy Ward Manager to join our specialist Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) in Essex.
This is a pivotal clinical leadership role where you will support the Ward Manager in ensuring the delivery of exceptional, evidence-based care. You will provide line management, clinical supervision, and play a key role in the development of our service and staff.
### Key Responsibilities:
Provide strong clinical leadership and support to the nursing team, acting as a role model for best practice.
Hold full oversight of the nursing rota, ensuring effective e-rosteringand safe staffing levels are always maintained.
Participate in the development and implementation of new services and care pathwaysto enhance patient care.
Ensure all nursing staff receive regular clinical supervision, appraisals, and complete their CPD and mandatory trainingrequirements.
Lead and manage medication rounds, ensuring safe administration in line with policy and NMCstandards.
Deputise for the Ward Managerin their absence, taking responsibility for the clinical area and its management.
Mentor and support Staff Nurses and Student Nurses*, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
Maintain the highest standards of care, ensuring compliance with all clinical policies and procedures.
### Essential Requirements:
Valid NMC Pin as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or Registered Learning Disability Nurse (RNLD)*.
A minimum of three years' post-registration experience within a relevant clinical setting (e.g., CAMHS*, PICU, acute mental health).
Proven experience in a senior Staff Nurse or Deputy Ward Managerrole, demonstrating leadership capabilities.
Experience in managing medication roundsand a strong understanding of clinical risk management.
Experience with rota management and e-rosteringsystems.
A commitment to providing high-quality supervision and supporting the CPDof others.
Excellent clinical assessment, decision-making, and communication skills.
### Desirable Skills:
Previous experience within a CAMHSsetting is highly desirable.
Experience in audit, quality improvement, or developing care pathways*.
A recognised mentorship qualification.
A proven ability to work under pressure and lead a team effectively.
