Job Description

deVOL Kitchens is one of the leading and most highly regarded kitchen companies in the UK, with design and manufacturing offices in Leicestershire, London, Bath, and New York.

We are currently looking to recruit a Dispatch Assistant to join our growing team at our workshops in Shepshed.

This is a varied and hands-on role working across three key dispatch areas at deVOL:

Ceramics Dispatch Shop Operations Dispatch Kitchen Dispatch
You will play a vital role in ensuring that our products are carefully packaged, quality-checked, and delivered on time to customers throughout the UK and internationally.

The position will also involve:

Picking and packing ceramic light shades, tiles, and tableware. Dispatching other items sold through our website. Assembling packing boxes. Ceramics product assembly and final quality control checks. Assisting with order allocation and stock management. Lifting and wrapping kitchen components, including cabinetry. Checking that everything has been loaded safely on the van. Documenting dispatched furniture for our international customers. Updating dispatch notes. Loading crates into containers and vans according to delivery instructions. Quality control tests to ensure conformance to company standards on goods before dispatch. General administrative work. Keeping work areas organised and tidy.
The ideal person will be:

Reliable, punctual, and organised. Relevant logistics experience (advantageous but not necessary). Able to communicate professionally and politely. Happy to work both independently and within a busy team. Willing to learn and follow instructions. Able to take care of delicate products and have a good eye for detail. Experience in previous roles that include heavy lifting. GCSEs in Maths & English. Hard-working and trustworthy. Focused and efficient.
The ideal candidate will preferably have previous experience working in a business packing orders and assisting with general operations. However, this is not essential, and full training will be provided.

This role will require you to be on your feet all day and involves moderate to heavy lifting.

The role is located across our two busy Shepshed sites, and you will be expected to follow health and safety procedures.

We offer a competitive salary based on experience, and during your first year, you will receive training in the role and performance appraisals where your pay may be reviewed. After this, we offer annual pay reviews and continued support from the team.

You will receive 22 days of annual leave (plus bank holidays), which can increase with length of service and experience, as well as life insurance, a wellness program, a cycle 2 work scheme, and company events.
