As part of our ambitious growth, we're looking to recruit a Dispatch Coordinator that will an important figure in the success of our Ground Operations team.
You will be responsible for moving aircraft with a specialised aircraft tug as well as coordinating the ground parking of aircraft at HQ in Retford airport. You will also be responsible for the dispatch of the aircraft, whether this be ensuring that onboard oxygen is available, preparing the anti-icing system or installing life jackets.
As you can probably tell, this role is vital from a safety standpoint and we're looking for someone who can maintain our strict safety procedures, can communicate effectively between key personnel/departments and understands the importance of their role and the people it impacts.
You do not need previous experience to be successful in this role, we can provide you with all of the necessary training but what you will need to be is passionate about aviation, keen to learn and capable of working in an environment with strict protocols and procedures.
As part of this role, there may be the possibility of being deployed to some our other locations in Europe.
Key Responsibilities:
To maintain the lists of items to be dispatched on any DEA tasking for all customers and training flights
To liaise with stores to ensure replacement and replenishment of items is requested in a timely manner
To maintain communications with the deployed crews to anticipate replenishment and maximise opportunities for logistical support.
To ensure that all items for dispatch are correctly identified, labelled and weighed.
To assist the aircraft captain in loading the aircraft accurately within weight and balance limitations.
To liaise with the systems team with regard to the equipment to be dispatched both in aircraft and for delivery to various locations.
To liaise with systems with regard to the allocated mobile telephone number and ensure that operations are updated with any change which are to be notified to crews.
When appropriate, act as the courier for the delivery or recovery of aircraft or systems parts
Notify & Update Navigational aircraft software of DEA Fleet
To support ramp coordinator duties including towing and fuelling of company aircraft.
Assist Ground Operations with routine tasks such as obtaining PPR/Slots/Handling, coordinating away from base fuelling and filing customs/immigration reports for crew.
Skills
To be able to operate safely in and around aircraft operation both in the hangar and when deployed.
To demonstrate the safety-first culture in all working processes.
To develop a sound working relationship with the DEA engineering team in order to work seamlessly to prepare aircraft for dispatch.
To develop a sound working relationship with the stores team in order to work seamlessly to prepare aircraft for dispatch.
To develop an understanding of the recently introduced tracking software for DEA items.
To develop the PPG for dispatch and assist in improving the process generally.
To capture all of the lessons learned through dispatch and propose steps to improve the ways of working.
