Key Responsibilities
Manage and coordinate all distribution activities, including shipping, receiving, and materials handling.
Develop and implement efficient business processes to improve productivity within the distribution centre.
Use transportation management systems (TMS) to optimise delivery routes and reduce logistics costs.
Conduct regular data analysis to monitor performance metrics and identify opportunities for improvement.
Collaborate with third-party logistics (3PL) providers to ensure seamless service and compliance.
Ensure full compliance with safety regulations and internal company policies across all distribution functions.
Lead, train, and support a team of distribution staff to ensure high performance and continuous development.
Maintain accurate inventory records and oversee all stock control processes.
Take a hands-on, all-rounder approach when necessary to support the wider operations team.
Qualifications & Requirements
Proven experience in logistics or supply chain management, preferably in a distribution or warehouse environment.
Strong understanding of core distribution processes including shipping, receiving, and materials handling.
Proficiency in data analysis with the ability to assess and improve operational performance.
Familiarity with transportation management systems and logistics software.
Experience operating forklifts or other materials handling equipment is a plus.
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with a focus on team building and performance improvement.
Full UK driving license (or equivalent) is essential.
Willingness to travel as required to meet with clients, suppliers, or customers.
Flexible, can-do attitude with the ability to take on varied tasks as an all-rounder when needed.
