Job Description

Job Purpose:

The post holder will be responsible for maintaining the cleaning schedule throughout The Cottage Nursing Home, ensuring all areas are cleaned to a high standard and in line with the established cleaning rotas and infection control procedures.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintain the overall cleanliness and hygiene of the Home in accordance with the cleaning rota. Ensure a high standard of cleanliness is achieved at all times, demonstrating sound knowledge of COSHH regulations and infection prevention and control practices. Be fully aware of and adhere to the Home's health and safety policies and procedures. Respond promptly and effectively to any cleaning-related emergencies or urgent situations. Attend relevant in-service training sessions, meetings, and discussions as required to support professional development and maintain high standards of practice. Maintain strict confidentiality in all matters relating to residents, staff, and the operation of the Home. Work flexibly in accordance with duty rotas, including weekends and bank holidays if required. Report any faults, damages, or losses of equipment or furnishings to the Manager or maintenance team promptly. Promote and uphold equality, diversity, and anti-discriminatory practices in all aspects of your work. Always have due regard for health and safety issues while carrying out your duties, ensuring a safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

This reflects the main duties and responsibilities of the post as of the present time. However, it may be subject to review and amendment as the needs of the service evolve. The post holder is expected to work cooperatively with colleagues and management to ensure the smooth running of the Home and the comfort and wellbeing of all residents.
