Information for the position of Programme Manager at the Downing Battcock Institute
Salary 41,691-53,939 per annum (depending on experience)
Full-time, permanent position
36.25 hours per week
We're looking for an organised, energetic, and thoughtful individual with experience managing complex programmes or events involving senior stakeholders - ideally in government, academia, or the non-profit sector. You'll combine outstanding project management and communication skills with curiosity, diplomacy, and a practical "can-do" approach.
The Downing Battcock Institute, based at Downing College, Cambridge, is a new initiative established through the generosity of philanthropist Humphrey Battcock. Its mission is to bridge the worlds of ideas and evidence with those of policy and practice - enabling senior policymakers to engage directly with leading researchers and innovators to find evidenced and effective solutions to policy challenges.
The Programme Manager will play a central role in designing and delivering the Institute's activities - notably its Policy Retreats and Annual Lecture - and in shaping the systems, partnerships, and identity of this new institution. Working closely with the Director (David Halpern) and colleagues across the College, University and beyond, this is a unique opportunity to help build a new Cambridge institution from the ground up.
Further information on the Downing Battcock Policy Retreats can be found in the appendix here.
