Job Description

We are looking for a professional drive and flexible individual who wants to work in a busy environment.

Our bakery driver/operative would start between 3-4am ,

6 days a week

(Monday to Saturday). You would be required to

pack your allocated bread and cake orders for the day.

You are then required to

load the bread crates on to your assigned vans for delivery;

deliver from 6/7am to customers on your route;

collect empty baskets; return to the bakery and clean out the van to a high standard.

Finishing at approx 10-11am most days a week.

We are looking for someone to take over a current route but we are looking for someone flexible, who is happy to learn a number of our routes, cover for holidays and sickness and would be willing to help in the dispatch area if required. Experience of a food environment would be of benefit but not essential.

Key duties and responsibilities of the role:

Carefully and accurately pack bread and cakes, ensuring they are not damaged and are secure when being transported.

Load packed bread and cakes onto van.

Deliver goods to customers, meeting their deliver slots in a professional and friendly manner.

Collecting cash from some customers, recording this and returning all monies and records to the office for processing.

Collect empty baskets.

Return van to bakery and empty crates and ensure van is swept out and clean.

Essential Criteria / Desirable Criteria:

Essential:

Clean Driving Licence, Good interpersonal skills (as you will be dealing with customers face to face and we aim to have a high level of customer service and support) Clean and presentable appearance (uniform is provided).

High level of accuracy when packing.

We drive large, long wheel based vans, so you need to be comfortable driving large vans.

Any other relevant information, such as qualifications can be gained through the role: On-site training on bread and cakes and shadowing drivers to learn the routes.

We are a busy bakery operating 6 days a week Monday to Saturday. Our bakers work overnight and our delivery drivers are

required to start at between 3-4am to help pack

the freshly made breads and cakes for their allocated customers.
